KBS Hardener/Accelerator

KBS Hardener / Accelerator can increase the speed of curing time for KBS moisture cured coatings like RustSeal, Blacktop, and Diamond Finish by as much as 35-60%.

Hardener/Accelerator can be added directly to the coating and will not affect the short term shelf life of the coating but will affect the long term shelf life. It is therefore recommended to add only to the coating that you are going to use over the next few days.

For Topcoats (Diamond Finish and BlackTop) the addition of 20mls per litre is normally adequate but dose rates can be increased to 40mls per litre even up to 60mls per litre if conditions require.

For RustSeal 10mls per litre is normally adequate with a maximum of 20mls per Litre.

If conditions are cold and dry (below 13°C) then higher levels of Hardener/Accelerator would be recommended.

If conditions are hot and humid then only low addition rates of Hardener/Accelerator would be recommended.

Care should be taken when using this product, the user should familiarise them itself with its use and the best dosage rates for their application. As the use of Hardener/Accelerator is not without side affects; most noticeably it will increase the propensity of the coating to "gas" eg to get bubbles/pinholes in the surface of the coating when drying.

To avoid this film thickness should be kept to a minimum and or minimise the use of the Hardener/Accelerator in conditions of high humidity.
